The Hecht Sustainable Protein Research Center (HSPRC) at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology is the first academic hub in the world dedicated to state-of-the-art multidisciplinary research and development of sustainable protein alternatives.

HSPRC’s goal is to help ensure that, in the future, our planet’s population will be able to feed itself in a nutritious, affordable and sustainable manner without further harming animals and the environment. The Center encourages the development of tasty commercial products at competitive prices by addressing fundamental challenges through advanced multidisciplinary research. HSPRC boosts cutting-edge research, attracts excellent new faculty members and students, and serves as a state-of-the-art global hub for basic and applied research, commercialization and entrepreneurship.
