Congratulations to our spring 2026 postdoctoral grant winners

Two post-doctoral researchers won the first round of post-doctoral grants awarded by HSPRC in the spring of 2026:

Dr. Shlomit David, studying the intestinal uptake of alternative foods using human organoid-derived epithelial models. The work is being completed in Prof. Shulamit Levenberg’s lab of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering. This research enables a systematic and human-relevant understanding of intestinal uptake of alternative foods, providing insights into nutrient bioavailability, safety, and inter-individual variability. The ultimate aim is to lay the foundation for the rational and personalized design of next-generation alternative foods.

Dr. Yuval Rosenberg, exploring how to effectively communicate and market sustainable proteins at a global scale. The research will begin in July, 2026, and advised by Profs. Ayelet Baram-Tsabari and Atar Herziger. Using a unique combination of big data analytics and theory, Yuval will quantify the reach of science news on sustainable proteins, identify actually-occurring patterns compared to theory, and promote new science communication strategies to boost the public acceptance of sustainable proteins.
