Previous Awardees- Shatil Grant Winners

Two proposals won the first round of Shatil grants awarded by HSPRC:

  1. Prof. Shulamit Levenberg of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering and Prof. Shenhav Shemer of the Faculty of Biology, for their research on “Evaluating physiological impacts of photo-crosslinked bioinks for cultivated meat.”
  2. Prof. Roy Posmanik of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Prof. Havazelet Bianco-Peled of the Wolfson Faculty of Chemical Engineering, for their research on “New approaches to transform plant-based agriculture waste into protein hydrogels.

Previous Awardees - New Equipment

Winner of New Equipment Grant

Prof. Shulamit Levenberg of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering submitted the winning proposal for acquiring new equipment. HSPRC will therefore purchase a Readily3D Volumetric Bioprinter – Tomolite VBP. The Tomolite system utilizes tomographic light projections to enable ultra-fast, support-free 3D bioprinting. Entire 3D structures are formed within seconds in cell-free or cell-laden light-sensitive hydrogels, with high cell viability and spatial resolution. The Readily3D volumetric bioprinter provides a transformative technology for cultivated meat research, enabling the rapid fabrication of complex tissue constructs.
